Compositions fortuites
(Lucky compositions)
During one of my on-site visits, I was struck by the decorations and coverings on the façades of the buildings in Pere Garau, a district of Palma de Mallorca. It's a range of colours, materials and textures that have been installed by chance over time, according to the tastes of successive house owners.
Here, it is not the gesture, but the painter's eye that, through the photographic lens, captures and frames architectural details to turn them into autonomous compositions.

I continued capturing these images when I visited other cities. As the series progressed, and the differences between them became apparent, it became clear to me that these compositions evoked the places from which they came. In a way, these abstractions sketch out a portrait of these cities, giving us a glimpse of the inimitable and unique essence of each of them.
